We do not help our adult children financially, and none of them expects it from us. However, life happens, and one of them has recently lost their job, the place to live, and most painfully, their life partner, - all of it at the same time. Needless to say, we all stepped in to help, - financially, emotionally, - as much as we could, no matter our limited financial means. I think this is what family is for.
