This is such a great piece, Harold. The digital dopamine addiction is certainly a world-wide pandemic. It hits the young a lot more than the older generations. And I'm afraid those questions above are wide open questions.
At the individual level, something certainly can be done, and some people do that, including me. I never watch shorts, I have no Ticktock account and never watch anything there, and my online time on YouTube is limited to a couple of hours/month for watching something meaningful, such as a TED talk or a good documentary.
However, my personal dos and don'ts in the digital space are of no significance to the digitally drugged society. And I have no constructive ideas how to find answers to the questions you are asking here, Harold. Nevertheless, I'm sure it is important to ask them. Maybe it will prompt some people to do something at the individual level :-)
