Sometimes, this "we know" means that someone else knows but not the person who is clinging to something that is "clearly" not working. It might be "clear" for everyone else around, but not to them, so they keep clinging. It might be extremely difficult to convince that person to open their eyes and mind and take an honest look at the reality in front of them....
Generally, I totally agree with your point, Leonard, but my point is that sometimes people chose to bury their head in the sand and not to see the real picture, not to admit the truth...
