I was unaware of the Medium "purge". Maybe because I'm new to Medium (I became a member just a few weeks ago). So, it is not the title that made me read this article, but the stunning overture photo, and the first sentence quoted above. I guess this revelation of mine answers, up to some extent, the question "why am I here", and the guess would be correct: not for money. I'm not saying that I don't care about the monetary side of it, I do, but it is not why I'm here. This question, "why am I here", keeps popping up in many articles, and I am surprised to see that many people seriously hope to make a living from their Medium pennies. What a futile pursuit! And it looks like this is the reason driving that kind of online behavior which prompted the "purge". I guess I have a lot to learn here...
