I can add my confirmation to this statement! A few years ago I had my first-hand experience with the healthcare system in Spain. It was efficient, effective, kind, and on top of everything - free!! I did not have to pay a penny (or rather a euro-cent:-) for the excellent treatment I received at a tiny clinic in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere of the Asturias mountains...
