I am new to Medium and I don't know the rules for making money but I see commenting on the articles which I enjoy as building relationship with the authors . It is sort of a process of getting to know each other, and in some ways to become friends. Some friendships last, others don't. Why? I don't know. My time on Medium is too short to conclude anything definitively...
