I agree Harold, your pieces are certainly decent. But from my perspective, it is not at all about the quality of your writing, but about your personality. I'm not saying it is good or bad, I'm just saying it is unthinkable to me to ask for this sort of thing because of my personality., no matter the quality of writing, or the size of the pub.

We all have different life experiences. James says it might a cultural thing, and I agree with it, but even more so, I think it is a "family thing", i.e., one's upbringing, parents, cultural context, etc.
