Great read! Very helpful for those who is not well informed about the role of Mg for our health. Knowing your Mg status would certainly be helpful, but it is almost impassible to convince a conventional doctor to check your Mg level via blood test. Without knowing the numbers, it is safe to say that everybody would benefit from Mg supplementation. Mg glycinate is probably the best cost-effective options: unlike Mg oxide (which is commonly used in cheap supplements and multies), Mg glycinate is well-absorbed and does not have the laxative effect of Mg citrate. Other well-absorbed forms of Mg supplements (malate, threonate, etc) are a lot more expensive and might not be affordable for everyone. The cheapest from of Mg supplements, Mg oxide, is practically useless as it is not absorbed by the body. Be aware!
